The Oval is the first building in Cyprus and one of a few in Southern Europe equipped with an advanced de-centralized open-loop  geo-exchange system exploiting the area’s geothermal potential. Even in the hottest summer period where the ambient air temperature can be as high as 45oC, ground water is flowing 15 m below the Oval building at a relatively constant temperature of only 22oC. A sophisticated variable flow system of nine water drillings feeds a central titanium plate heat exchanger system, and then returns the water back to the ground.
